Welcome.
Greetings. My name is Aaron. The photographer and imaging expert behind f/eleven. I’m a New England based photographer, art book printer, image retoucher and color expert / consultant. I’ve been a photographer for over 20 years and an executive manager in the book printing / fine art fields for 35 years.
I have photographed art collections in galleries in Boston and New York, instructed students worldwide through online education platforms, photographed for commercial and editorial clients and processed and color managed images for major books printing domestically and internationally and consulted on many large book projects printing abroad. I’m an expert in tritone separation where I’ve assisted many photographers in printing their life’s work in coffee table books.
I’ve had the privilege of separating the work of Ansel Adams for At The Waters Edge, Published by the Peabody Essex Museum, Patti Smiths work for the Wadsworth Athenaeum, McDonalds Corp, IBM and countless other institutions and independent photographers.
As a photographer and book printer I have a deep appreciation for the printed image. I photograph with Nikon and Fuji digital cameras, Hasselblad and Yashica Medium format film cameras, a Chamonix 4x5 view camera and vintage Polaroids. Each camera, unique in its own way play a critical role in recording and reporting the experiences around me. It’s important for me to choose a medium that best supports my vision for a subject or a subject that best compliments a specific medium.
My photography is available as prints, image licensing or commissioned assignment. Tritone / color separations, photo scanning and print production consultation are available to independent photographers & artists, art galleries, museums, publishers, designers and institutions throughout North America looking to print domestic or internationally.
